Lily 2.0 Bag

I am a huge lover of the Lily Bag! It is my carry-on bag for all trips, especially work. The backpack-to-shoulder bag options are important to me.

2.0 is an improvement on 1.0, but not without its flaws.

PROS:
- FINALLY a carry-on suitcase trolley strap at the back! Thank you!
- Nice, easy-to-clean material

But I cannot give the 2.0 5 stars for 2 reasons:

CONS
- After one week, the zipper on the bottom shoe pocket broke off! The shoe pocket is in itself an awkward thing to zip up. Now I can only use 1 of the 2 zippers.
- Will you use it with a laptop? Think before you buy. The bottom shoe pocket takes up a lot of vertical space. Lily 1.0 was deeper and could fit my laptop nicely (12" x 8"). Now the laptop is a tighter fit because the pocket takes up space vertically. The strap to keep laptop in won't even reach around. A great idea would have been to make the shoe pocket optional (ie - a zipper or open/close mechanism on the inside so you could choose to separate this space from the rest of the bag?). Or allow the back laptop/ipad space to sink down to the bottom?

So honestly, slightly disappointed with this version. But am willing to work with it!

The material and overall look of the bag are definitely an upgrade from the previous version. I love the big zipped shoe pocket at the bottom. The snaps on the pockets are very flimsy, however, and don't stay closed. The side pockets are too shallow for a decent size water bottle.

I had a previous Lily bag that I really liked and I was excited to see that a trolley sleeve had been added for the 2.0 version, as that had been a key missing feature for me. Unfortunately, a standard laptop doesn't easily fit in the 2.0 laptop sleeve, so I don't think I will be able to use for work as planned. The side water bottle pockets are also too shallow to keep a standard water bottle secure. I believe it's too late for me to be able to return the bag.

I purchased this thinking-it was a perfect work bag- padded laptop sleeve and separate section for shoes. The padded laptop is basically the size of an iPad -11” long! ( standard laptops 13”).
